Addis creates new look for Moody's KMV collateral
Addis, the independent brand strategy and design firm, announced today its collaboration with Moody's KMV to develop a proprietary brand voice for the company's collateral system. Moody's KMV, the dominant player in the quantitative credit risk management business, hired Addis to design the brochures, corporate folders and product sheets for the company's integrated product line which covers four distinguishing areas of credit risk management and professional services.
"With Addis' identity design expertise, we have now clearly distinguished the unique offerings within our product line from the competition all the while conveying the efficiency, precision and sophistication for which all of our products are known," states Martha Sellers, Managing Director at Moody's KMV. "The result is a collateral system that is absolutely on target for communicating with our customers, and the feedback we've received from them has been tremendous. We are very pleased."
The Moody's KMV collateral system clearly communicates to the customer (lenders, investors and corporations) the precise insight they secure when using Moody's suite of tools and services. It was Addis' task to show the absolute discipline and rationale that underpin Moody's products, products that ensure Moody's clients are able to make smart business decisions based on state-of-the-art credit analysis. Each of the product segments are differenciated from each other through the use of color and a graphic language which reinforces the analytical nuances associated with each segment.

John Creson to speak at Seybold Conference
John Creson, Executive Creative Director of Addis will join a panel of his colleagues on Monday September 8th, at the annual Seybold conference in San Francisco to discuss design that inspires. With this lackluster economy, designers can use a bit of inspiration right now. This panel celebrates beautiful design that stimulates the mind and brings us joy. Designers will present their work in a variety of media, reminding us why we love to design in the first place.
John will be participating in the panel "Design That Inspires", at the Moscone West Center from 10:30AM to 12:00PM on September 8th.
The Seybold Conference runs in San Francisco from September 8-12. For more information go to www.seybold365.com/sf2003.
Addis promotes John Creson to Executive Creative Director
Addis, the brand consultancy, has named John Creson to the position of Executive Creative Director. Addis is known for such work as the Pottery Barn Kids website, Pepsi's change to blue, and Intel's flagship brand identities. Creson has worked at Addis for five years and led creative development on Pentium 4, Centrino, 24 Hour Fitness, Aerus Electrolux, Blue Shield, Moody's KMV, and others.
"John and I share the vision to build a firm that's not only balanced between strategy and creative, but actually blends the two into a single discipline," comments CEO Steven Addis. "John's a creative force who's also one of the best strategists I've known - he keeps us all focused on finding the big idea."
Creson joined Addis in 1999 after stints at Landor and Addison and feels Addis has the vision, philosophy, and talent to take a major stance in the future of the branding industry. Through both the boom times of the late 1990s and the industry's retrenchment of 2001/02, Addis has steadfastly held to its vision to integrated brand strategy and creative expression and the way they meld the two together.
"It's been tempting to resort to only one aspect of a brand's expression," notes Creson, "but our passion is how each element is informed by the brand: what it stands for, its personality, how it's unique. The creative industry is still cowering in a bunker and needs to get out and start innovating again."
The firm's confidence through the dark times of the past few years has paid off. Not only has Addis survived as an independent, recent wins have buoyed its outlook for continued growth. Those wins include new work from Bic, Simpson Strongtie, Boston Market/McDonalds, Nano-tex, Dole, Intel, Kashi, and Delta Technical Coatings, a leader in the crafting field.
